Portuguese Sausage Musubi
Recipe created for Mello's Chourico by Rosie Hatch (Instagram)
INGREDIENTS:
1 link Mello’s Linguica, sliced thin lengthwise
1 cup sushi rice, cooked
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
2 sheets nori
Musubi mold
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a small skillet, heat soy sauce and brown sugar until sugar dissolves.
Add sausage and cook in the sauce until charred a bit. Remove from heat and set aside.
Lay out nori, then add musubi mold on top.
Scoop in rice and press down.
Add two thin slices of layered sausage, then remove mold and wrap nori around, sealing with a mushed-up rice grain.
Repeat the process one more time to make a second musubi.
Slice in half and serve with soy sauce.
